Dedicated to the value that we only truly succeed when we bring others with us, Karli has taken her Human Rights and Journalism background into empowering Northern First Nation youth and adults in developing award-winning stories.
She has been employed under Journalists for Human Rights‘ Canadian Indigenous Reporters Program which included an extension supported by Taking IT Global.
She has been invited to present her training experiences in a workshop along with a former mentee at the Canadian Roots Exchange‘s 2020 Annual Gathering for her workshop “In it for the Long Haul: Experiences as a Community Journalism Trainer” (PDF) on the need for longer-term in-community mentorship programs.
